I am not a blogger

I am not a blogger. I am not a tweeter. I don't like writing, mostly because I have trouble bringing myself to get started, have too much else on my mind, or just end up demotivating myself because I read back what I just put down and it sounds ridiculous.

I am not a "business person". I am not a marketer. I am driven enough to work for myself, and (try to) start my own businesses, but the reality is, when it comes to essential business operations outside of tech, I don't know what the fuck I am doing.

Reset Ubuntu Panels (Toolbars) without even logging out

Freakin Sweet. I experiment with my ubuntu toolbars a lot so I'm always googling for a way to reset them properly.

gconftool-2 --shutdown && rm -rf ~/.gconf/apps/panel && pkill gnome-panel

Thanks, Dykam @ http://superuser.com/questions/7225/how-do-i-restore-a-panel-in-ubuntu

Recovery.gov launches, built on Drupal

With the passing of the stimulus/recovery/spending/bailout bill today, the White House launched a new website to help citizens track where all of those trillions of dollars are going... with Drupal!

LocalArt.biz demonstrate's the power of Drupal contrib

How Grooveshark Works

This is a cross-post from the discussion board on our new Facebook group, Grooveshark for Artists. As Moneyshark gets closer and closer to launch, we are beginning to do some artist outreach to let everyone know how Grooveshark really works. Moneyshark is the backend portal provided for free to all registered rights holders (artists, labels, publishers, etc). It provides detailed information about your sales and streams over time, and more.

This is 6.0

Wow, its been more than a year and more than a whole version number of drupal.

Remember what I said about 5.0? forget it. It doesn't even compare...

I want to write more, but I have to go to work now. stand by for more content...

In Parlimentary Canada, Billboard watches You!

A new technology by a company in Canada called xuuk uses a camera and infrared sensors to detect if someone is looking directly at a billboard, or really anything that the camera is attached to. Called the eyebox, the device only costs $1000, and is set to revolutionize digital signage by enabling advertisers to actually count how many people see their ad.

this is 5.0

Drupal 5.0 is gonna be the best thing to ever happen for the blue drop. It's just getting easier and easier to create a sweet new website.

To give you an idea, I got this thing up from upload to post in less than an hour. The install and upgrade process is awesome. Not having to wrangle with SQL files to install drupal really opens you up to just go nuts with project sites.

Thats what this is for. This is the arbitrary first post of my first real "blog" site. It's about time I have a solid identity online, so for any of you that care, here it is!

Google Docs Checks out.

Google Docs Checks out.

I used the New docs.google.com to create this post. It seems to work fabulously, just as simple as MS Word, and frankly its the best WYSIWYG editor I've ever used on a website. Are they going to open that feature up so other sites can use it? They've already got Google Web Tools for building Google-Like apps on your own, using Java code.

Anyway, this post is really just a late announcement to anyone that didn't know already, AND it is a test of using Google Docs as a Blog Editor, via Drupal's XMLRPC feature.
